Summer is in full swing these days and we’re doing our best to enjoy every hot, sweaty minute of it. Steve and I hopped on the Metro this weekend and headed to the Atwater Market where we indulged in delicious chicken and pork sandwiches and fresh raspberries for dessert. After browsing the market and drooling over just about everything we saw , we wandered to the historic Lachine Canal, just a hop, skip and a jump from the market. We plopped in the shade, under a tree and watched the bikers, boaters, roller-bladders, sun-tanners and picnic-goers enjoying the beautiful day. It was great to see so many Canadians being so active and enjoying the summer weather. Everything felt so alive and buzzing with energy! I think this would have to be my most favorite part of summer, the energy of the city just shifts and everyone seems so much happier and healthier. And if that doesn’t do it, I just have to sniff the sunscreen bottle to be reminded of just how wonderful this time of year really is!
PS. Could the giant, blow-up beaver in the park be anymore Canadian?
